Publishing Journey

I am seeking a traditional publisher for my children’s book manuscripts. In addition to writing and revising on a daily basis, I also attend conferences, participate in webinars, and meet with my SCBWI critique group on a monthly basis.

I am currently a 6th – 12th grade librarian in large, diverse public school with nearly 3,000 students and 200 staff members. I have served on the executive board for the Alaska Association of School Librarians, presented at state conferences, and provided professional development trainings for educators in my district. In 2012 I was named the Alaskan School Librarian of the Year, and in 2018 I was an Anchorage School District Denali Award winner.

I’ve become dedicated to achieving my writing goals in the past few years. My previous publications (unrelated to my children’s book manuscripts) include:

Alaska Internet Circle of Safety

In 2009 I was contracted by the Alaska State Library to create an internet safety resource for parents and librarians. I wrote the text and selected the resources for the Alaska Internet Circle of Safety website, which was then given to a local graphic artist to design and publish the website.

Sharing Pedagogies by Gail Tayko and John Paul Tassoni (Boynton Cook, 1997).

I was a contributing author of the article “Between Student and Teacher Roles” in this text.
